1. Production & Ingest Process
a.) Multi-camera tape shoot
b.) Tape is loaded into deck connected to an encoder
c.) Encoder creates hi and low resolution (Avid OMF, MXF or Final Cut Quicktime) digital files and is transfered directly to storage volume or to a portable drive
d.) The digital media from the storage volume or the portable drive is then ingested into Mesoft SELECT Server via Fiber connection, Ethernet, Firewire or USB
e.) Mesoft SELECT Server intelligently grants users access to production media
2. Media Logging Process
a.) Loggers access the digital content securely through Mesoft's SELECT VUE-R (Desktop Edition)
b.) Logger(s) play through content easily creating sub clips with respective meta-data (Cast, Location, etc.) descriptions, logs and full transcriptions
c.) The logged media is immediately reported back to the server and accessible for other authenticated users to begin searching through

3. Review & Story Editing Process
a.) Producer(s), story editor(s), "preditor(s)", or other designated user(s) access the logged media securely through Mesoft's Story Editor(- there is also an option to access the content using Mesoft's RNA Media Review and Approval.
b.) Using the Mesoft's Story Editor, users can easily search through the logged media and quickly create a string out for each episode / scene / act. Thumbnail view provides a visual storyboard and notes can be non-destructively added to logged text.
c.) Once the end-user is satisfied with their string out, they simply export and ALE or XML file and corresponding text document containing editorial notes for eah shot
d.) The ALE / XML file containing the frame accurate information from each episode / scene / act in the string out is sent to the Editorial Department
4. Editorial Refinement & Final Output Process
a.) Editor receives the ALE / XML file containing media information and opens the file in the NLE system to begin the edit refinement process
b.) Editor re-links the (hi or low res) media already digitized from the Production & Ingest Process that is specified in the ALE / XML file
c.) Editor creates finished segment or show and outputs to a final master tape or master file (using the hi-resolution digitized media) |
